Today is the deadline for my sister to decide her choices of secondary schools. And they are as follows:
1st Choice: Singapore Chinese Girls' School
2nd Choice: Cedar Girls' Secondary School
3rd Choice: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School
4th Choice: CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) School
5th Choice: Crescent Girls' School
6th Choice: Presbyterian High School

Tomorrow, I'll be off to Kuala Lumpur. So, last update before I leave.

Neo-prints taken on 19 November 2003:

Today's Joanna's birthday party. Yeah, a BBQ. Haha. I'm going to wear the denim skirt and a white blouse. Yuck, wonder I will look presentable. Shiver at the thought of it.

Mandy's Update: My sister has decided to give up on Methodist Girls' for God-knows-what reason. Haha. So now, Singapore Chinese Girls' tops her list.

Here goes:
1st: Singapore Chinese Girls' School
2nd: Cedar Girls' Secondary School
3rd: CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) School
4th: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School
5th: Crescent Girls' School
6th: Presbyterian High School

Haha, the choice for my sister's secondary school is the hot topic in my family now. Everyone's talking about it. I really wonder which school my sister will end up in. Sigh! Fingers crossed!

Another problem: My cousin, Calysta, got 204 for her PSLE. She is invited to get into Cedar Girls' Secondary School due to her Track-and-Field. But, things to consider include: distance (she stays in the North and Cedar Girls' is in the East) and stress level (Calysta isn't one who can accept failures well, so the stress level there will be great as her results are not that good compared to her fellow counterparts.)
My advise will be: Stay in the neighbourhood schools and not go to Cedar.

Baking time! The first time I ever baked something on my own accord. The last time I baked was during Secondary 2. I had to bake cookies for the Home Economics Practical Test. Sheesh! Haha.

Well, first-time baker, can't expect much right? The pan was placed too low, the brownie was left in the oven too long and the temperature was too high. All these resulted in a burnt brownie. Hmm, but I still think it tasted good. Well, things that you cook yourself always seem to taste good even if the rest of the world disagrees. Haha!

Finally my parents accepted my theory of "Choosing the correct Secondary School for Mandy".

Choice of Schools for Mandy:
1st: Methodist Girls' School
2nd: Singapore Chinese Girls' School
3rd: Cedar Girls' Secondary School
4th: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School
5th: Crescent Girls' School
6th: Presbyterian High School

Well well, I believe what my mum said was true. Even if Methodist Girls' were to take in girls of poorer standard this year, it wouldn't be below 250 (MGS took in girls with minimum aggregate score of 257 last year). Hmm, guess she might be right. But I still stand firmly on my belief: You never know it till you give it a try. "Small Chance > No Chance at all"
Cool Bananas!

The PSLE results were out today. Top scorer: 282 (didn't do as well as other batches). My sister? Sigh, did not realise her dream of getting 250+ or 260+. Got 247. Quite an achievement I would say. Judging from the fact that I got only a miserable 231 during my PSLE. Haha! This also means that she would not be able to go to Nanyang Girls' School. That was her dream school, unfortunately. Trying for Cedar Girls'. I was telling her to try Methodist Girls' or Singapore Chinese Girls' as the standard dropped this year (fingers crossed).

Went to Orchard with Cynthia and Jennifer. On an undisclosable mission. Had brownie and Vanilla Ice-Blended from Coffee Bean for lunch. Yummy! Haha, we also bought these Christmas hats to wear during chalet. Looking forward to the 4 Truth chalet manz. 4 Truth Rocks? Sure!

A day out with my old secondary school gang never fails to perk me up. Head count: Cynthia, Jennifer, Liang Yi, Joanna Aw (or Autumn?), Felicia, Dinah and I. Manz, full attendance!!

Went to Marche for lunch. Ate steak, mushroom and cheese creppe, grilled chicken, stingray, rosti, pizza and strawberry cheese cake. Also, root beer and Snaple for drinks. Haha, saw this extremely adorable and handsome Caucasian (in green shirt). Manz, Joanna and I were both drooling over him. How often do we share the same taste in guys? This shows how good looking he was. For a moment, KL wasn't on my mind. That good looker certainly blew my mind away. Haha! Had a fun time chatting too. And learning more about each other's life now.

Tribute 1: Felicia is still as crappy as usual. Dinah is prettier but seems shorter now. Joanna is still the same adorable self. Cynthia is just forever such a good pal. As for Jennifer and Liang Yi, I see them too often to write anything here.

After lunch, Felicia and Dinah had to leave. So, Cynthia, Jennifer, Liang Yi, Joanna and I went to Far East to take neo-print. This is the best one I think:

Bottom Row (from left): Joanna (Autumn), Jennifer
Top Row (from left): Michelle (me!), Cynthia, Liang Yi

Pictures taken. Went shopping around Far East. Bought a denim skirt. My first ever skirt!!! Becoming feminine. Haha! Intend to wear it for Joanna's birthday celebration on the coming Monday.

Tribute 2: Liang Yi's grand-dad left the world to be with the Lord. He went in his sleep, peacefully. Cheer up, Liang Yi! God's with your grand-dad. I am sure he is in Good Hands! Peace!!

Wow! Today, my mother, sister (Mandy, who is currently waiting for her PSLE results which would be out this coming Saturday, 22 November 2003) and I went on a school visiting car trip. We drove along Bukit Timah Road, which is known to be the site of independent schools: Hwa Chong Junior College, The Chinese High, Nanyang Girls' High, National Junior College and Methodist Girls'. Also, we went onto Stevens Road to visit Raffles Girls'. I doubt that sister of mine can get in there. By passed Singapore Chinese Girls' too. Manz, the buildings of all these independent schools are very damn beautiful. Sigh, how I wished I had done better and got into any of the above schools (except The Chinese High, of course!). Well, it's a dream. A dream that can never come true as it is not possible to turn back time. Actually, even if I could turn back time, turning it back to the SAJC Open House is good enough. Eye Candy!!!

Well, haven't blog for quite some time. Haha. Just an update about what happened so far:

14 November 2003, Friday: Went to Orchard with Liang Yi. Met her classmates, including Robbie, Soon Hui (or whatever his name is spelt as), Elaine and Choy Mun (or whatever it is spelt). Basically, they are a really funny bunch to hang out with. Especially Robbie. He's extremely cheeky and funny. Sort of like a full-time clown, should I say? Haha. His pants is so low that a little pull will definitely make it drop. Haha, and the joke about him being the only guy who wears boxers in their class really made me laugh. Soon Hui and Robbie were constantly teasing Liang Yi while shopping for a present for Shaun (is it spelt this way?). You see, Shaun happens to like Liang Yi and so they assumed that whatever Liang Yi likes, Shaun will too. Haha, cheeky!

15 October 2003, Saturday: Project Work is finally declared over!! Paginated, filed, presented! Yes, and this calls for a celebration. Although not much was done to celebrate. Just a lunch at Holland Village Delifrance. Pearline also called me to tell me that she saw KL on bus 111, or rather someone who looks like him. She said the hairstyle was different and he's more handsome than KL. How can that be? I don't believe. Anyway, I tried to stay sane and so I didn't rush off to Orchard, although I very much wanted to. Haha.

Finally the dreaded Project Work Oral Presentation is over!! Gosh, it was really a day to celebrate. Haha, the best thing is that my friends commented that I spoke well. Wu who! (Did I get that right? Haha, oh well.)

After the oral presentation, what's left now is the Group Project File. Yet another sucky thing. Sheesh! I am not looking forward to doing pagination and so on. But I am indeed looking forward to the end of it. Haha, obviously? That's what all the JC 1s are looking forward too. Yeah!

Ok, today, Neptina and I went to apologise to Joanna. (Even though I don't think it was totally our fault. But well, had to give moral support to Neptina.) After the apology, Jasmine, Joanna, Neptina and I went to Orchard. Takashimaya Coffee Bean to be precise. Claimed my free Ice-Blended drink. Cinammon Ice Blended. Nice! Also, I ate Chocolate of a Thousand Leaves. Very chunky, crunchy and delicious. Haha! Idiot Jasmine kept teasing me by shouting "KL" all the time. Sheesh! And silly me! I was tricked all the time. Also, this RI boy kept looking at Joanna, as if he is interested in her. Sheesh, little boy, can't you see that she's older than you are? Gosh!

Then, we went to Orchard Library. I borrowed "The Best-Loved Plays of Shakespeare". Well, to read about Othello of course. Haha! Got it? Hee~! Oh manz, better remember to return it on the 3 December 2003.

Although Joanna and I are on talking-terms now, but I still feel awkward and different. It seems like we no longer click and there's no common topic for us to talk about now. Sigh! It's just different!

Sad-ed. Haha. Well, today, things didn't turn out very much I wanted it too. See, I was suppose to go to the Body Worlds Exhibition at Expo Hall 1 with Joanna. We asked Neptina along.

I arrived at City Hall (our meeting place) at about 2.15pm. I called Joanna and she said she was still at Clementi. Oh well, fine. Then after waiting for about 3 minutes, Neptina came. Feeling bored, we chatted. Neptina then suggested that we should watch a movie instead as the entrance fee to the exhibition was not very cheap. I called Joanna to ask for her opinion, but sadly, she didn't pick up the phone. Oh well, Neptina and I decided to head on down to Orchard.

After arriving at Orchard MRT Station, Joanna called. I told her about our decision to watch a moive. God knows why, Joanna then replied fiercely, "What? I want to go to the exhibition. I am alone now in City Hall MRT do you know? I'm not going to Orchard. I am going back home!"

Neptina and I thought that the way she scolded us was funny (we thought she was in her "preaching" mode again.), so we laughed. Misunderstood, Joanna thought we were laughing at her "mere foolishness" which Neptina and I both don't understand what she was refering to. Angrily, she slamed the phone, leaving both of us much confused.

Whether she is still angry or not, I don't know. Neptina said we were in the wrong to leave City Hall and head to Orchard without telling her. Ok, accepted. But, we tried to call her? Oh well, I don't know what to do with this. I am in this state of confusion now. Mixed feelings. I am sad, confused and angry (not that much though, just felt it was unfair that she didn't allow us to explain ourselves.). Hope tomorrow will be a better day. Sigh!

NB: Joanna, if you are reading this, I just hope you will understand. It really wasn't totally our fault. You need two hands to clap.

My gosh! Today, Lynette (my primary school friend) shocked me with this news: KL has broken up with his girlfriend. Well well, she's not sure if it is 100% true herself as she got the news from her friend. Hmm, I don't know if I should believe. And in case you are wondering, no I am not happy or gloating. I feel that it is wrong to gloat over other people's break-up. That's against my intergrity. Haha. Learnt that from Liang Yi. Ok, I better message Petrina and ask. Haha. And she said it is not true. Yeah, that's about it.

Chinese AO Level Paper is finally over! Haha, now I can finally say "bye bye" to Chinese and "hello" to English. English rulez! Gosh, hopefully I get C5/C6. If not I'll have to treat that Peter. Haha, no way manz!

After the paper, Karen, Joanna, Jasmine and I went to Marshe. Ate stingray, steak, creppe, rosti and cakes (death by chocolate, tiramisu, black forest and chocolate tuffle). Gosh, they tasted so good. Loved it. We also saw Jin Cheng with this Jurong Junior College girl. He bluffed me that she was his sister, but then he gave up. Hmm, I wonder if she's his girlfriend? Who knows? After the heavy lunch, we went to take neo-print. The one we took at Heeren wasn't nice. But those we took at Far East Plaza were good. Joanna was so into the neo-print thing because it was so fun that we took it twice. The neo-print machine has a mobile camera which can be shifted from portrait to landscape, low to high.

Top Row (from left): Jasmine, Karen
Bottom Row (from left): Michelle (me!), Joanna

Back at home, I got to chat with Woon Peng and Johnson. Both are my Primary 4 classmates. Also, I found out that Andy (from Primary 6B) is actually German. Very funny indeed. Well, you learn new things everyday. Today's another fun day. Yeah!

Jasmine's birthday today!!! But, pity, I didn't get to see her the whole day.

Also, today's Project Work Oral Presentation Dry-run. Gosh, I was super nervous and my friends thought I had asthma attack. Haha! Well, at least when it came to the conclusion part, I was much better and I thought I improved. However, I screwed the whole thing when I told Miss Kwan that it was very stressful and difficult for me doing this project as I needed a lot of sleep. (She asked me about the problems I faced doing this project.) Haha, my class was so shocked and amused by my answer. Haha!!

After that, my class (not all but still quite a big group) went to Orchard together. Head Count: Priyaa, Pearline, Chris, Natalia, Kala, Daljit, Siew Wen, Bai Lu, Pei Shan, Joey, Jin Cheng and Iskandar. Hmm, we went to Scotts Food Court. They ate Pastamania. But, Jin Cheng and I decided to eat Beef Hor Fun instead. Seems like both of us really love eating beef manz! Haha! Went to Far East Plaza after eating.

Priyaa and I were talking about lots of nonsense the whole day. Generally, today is quite an enjoyable day.

SAT!!! Gosh, I really hate this. I was dreading every verbal section. They were just so boring. The worst thing is that there were 4 verbal sections. The passages were so boring too. But, I liked the Math sections. There were 3 math sections. These sections were relatively easy. Enjoyed doing them. The questions weren't that straight forward. You got to think. That's something nice.

After SAT, there is the sickening Co-Op Stock Taking. So sucky! Haha, but I only managed to count the ties and badges. After that, I slacked! Typical. But I was happy to visit Holland Village once again with Jun Jie. We talked about our eye-candies. Very fun. Haha! Apparantly we got to know about our eye-candies the same way - pictures. Haha, seems like we have lots in common. The way we'll react when we see them is the same. Gosh! Another great pal to hang out at Holland Village with.

A sad thing to add: KL's girlfriend's name is Andrea. SAD!!!
