i have FINALLY moved into my hall, canterbury hall. it has a pretty close-knitted singaporean congregation. and i am happy about it. i know i should be venturing out and enjoying the cosmopolitan londoner life. but i still feel more at ease and comfortable with my fellow singaporeans. during lectures, which some started full-swing, my whole singaporean gang just sat together. it was SO FUN. if only all classes were like that.

i have pretty much settled down with life in london. now that my mom has left for singapore, i do feel a bit empty. there is no one to give me directions on what i should do about my daily life. it is pure independence and i am going to learn all that as best as i could, and as fast as i could. i hope i will emerge after three years in london, a stronger woman with more self-confidence, independence and a good degree at hand.

i never knew i would ever be a subject of gossips. not that it is anything that puts me at a very bad position or tarnishes my reputation, but it is just really fascinating how people can just talk rubbish without being inebriated and in a very conscious state of mind. scandalous news are rampant in halls. life of students are boring, and we need these to spice up our lives, don't we? right, diana? HAHA. (:

it's 26 september 2006, 6.57am singapore time. that means it is already MY MOMMY DEAREST'S BIRTHDAY! so i just want to wish my beautiful mom a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! i can't express how much love i have for her. i pray for her to stay healthy and happy every single day of her life. I MISS HER!

YAYYYYY! i have a VERY delirious announcement to make. i am going back to singapore on 27th december 2006. (: please make your bookings to meet me as soon as possible. I WANT A CHALET WITH BRYSON! and that is NOT a hint. it is an order! nique-key should start doing something about this. HAHAHA! :D

i saw this england jersey being framed up on a wall of the fifth storey of the very opulent and enormous shopping mall called harrods at knightsbridge. i quickly and surreptitiously took a picture of it because i know that mandy and cassandra are ardent fans of his. sorry i can't go to liverpool just yet. i will, i promise!

OH YES. i just saw JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE on channel 4 (it is a television channel in london). he sings REALLY impressively live. his voice is superb. and he just simply oozes sex appeal so much that it is justified to lust over him. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS SO HOT. however, despite being so famous, he is very humble and polite. very amiable man. GET YOUR SEXY BACK!

i have been in london for three days already! and i am slowly getting accustomed to everything here.

for starters, the complicated tube map no longer torments and intimidates me! i am able to swiftly, efficiently and accurately change lines! to exhibit my intelligence, i am able to remember that there are a few lines which are prominent in my travelogue. the lines are called central, bakerloo, jubilee, northern, central and district.

i suppose because it is only the beginning of autumn, the weather is pretty warm. my mom was complaining about not being able to wear sleeveless tops (because i told her to not bring them as it would be too cold). she turns on the air-conditioner whenever we step into our hotel room. the sun is very bright too! and our jackets have no use. very unexpected. but thankfully, it has not been raining! and hopefully, the weather stays this way! :D

my hotel is rather pretty. (i realise i use 'pretty' pretty - get what i mean? - often. gasp!) it is located very near the marble arch station, along the central line. (: yet again, displaying my adaptability. the best thing about my hotel is that it has FREE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS. diana, at luxurious holiday inn, can't access to internet without paying. aww. (:

my mom and i visited TOWER OF LONDON. and i absolutely ADORE those beefeaters! they just look so buffed but friendly. like santa claus! so cute! oh and i totally love shopping at oxford circus! we walked so much, from bond street to regent street and finally to oxford street. if this sounds annoyingly familiar, it's because they correspond to the green properties of the monopoly game. yes, when you travel around london, you realise that those properties in the monopoly game suddenly pops into reality. and that's pretty (yet again) cool!

nonetheless, i must say, as cliche as it sounds, nothing beats home! i miss the prime shopping belt affectionately called 'town' or 'orchard', the cute singaporean boys (yeah, british boys aren't my cup of tea. however, having said that, i managed to see ONE cute guy today while waiting for my friends outside the strand campus of king's college), the decadent asian food that tantalises my taste buds, the warmth and comfort of being in a familiar environment, the clean and efficient MRTs (the tubes here ALWAYS have some sort of delays somewhere) and, most of all, MY DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! <33

even though, as diana pointed out, meeting up with different groups of people for seemingly the last time before i coop myself up in london for the next six months does reinstate the whole melancholy of being far away from everything comfortable in this birth place. however, having said that, maybe i was more excited to meet up with friends that i've not seen since a long time ago, that i forgot the fact that these meetings are the last in quite a duration.

the week was kicked start by karen and joanna at crystal jade kitchen holland village. these friends whom i've got close to ever since the first three months in junior college updated me about their lives. i've not seen them ever since last year. IT WAS ALL GOOD!

tuesday night was spent with my lovely darlings of smu! doreen couldn't make it. but the rest of my very huge clique joined me at fish and co glasshouse. although half the time i couldn't understand their smu module jargons, nonetheless i enjoyed their company. the whole group have not meet up with such heartwarming attendance since christmas last year. I LOVE MY PRETTY SMU BABES!

the jam-packed week didn't end just yet. thursday night was spent at settlers cafe holland village with my 03s54ers. we laughed the night through with the many games offered there. jincheng, the resident clown of my class, entertained us with his...basically, himself? HAHAHA. he's just entertaining, no matter what. FOURSOME UNITED, but priyaa was missed. sigh. I'M GONNA MISS THESE PEEPS!

friday was a busy day. the afternoon was spent at plaza singapura with htay and the bolawers. however, i was commuting here and there and couldn't spend much time with them. how sad. i lost and found my mobile phone. kudos to GOD, the taxi driver and his son! it did cause me a big heartache the whole afternoon. but neverminds, i still enjoyed myself, going trigger happy! the night was spent bbq-ing at costa sands pasir ris to celebrate kelvin's 21st. we managed to catch up with ning wee and junyi! these people are people whom i only see during chinese new year. now that i'm going to study in london and missing many CNYs, seeing them before i leave was timely. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELVIN!

today was "lunch with the lais". the lais came in full-force. i had lunch with coach lucas, aunt kathleen, brandon, bradley and bryson at sembawang country club. we also swam and played around at the jacuzzi. it was quality time spent with the lais. but i didn't manage to get a picture of the two alleged couples. BOOS. ): bryson was once again lachrymose when we had to part. awww. I LOVE BRYSON.
anyway, i had to quote bradley. when we were gushing over bryson's caucasian baby neighbour, bradley said, "hey brandon. bryson's fame level dropped." HAHAHA. that was so hilariously witty! :D

mention 'BRYSON' and you'll find me screaming in response, "OMG I SO MISS HIM! HE'S UBER CUTE!". indeed, the chalet at downtown east at the beginning of the week proved to be an absolutely timely bonding session between bryson and us all who adore him. of course, not to neglect htay who came for both of our bbq dinners and even joined us for wild wild wet. unfortunately busy brandon lai couldn't make it, however hard he tried. as a result, mandy escaped from her forfeit. sheesh, her husband helped her, didn't he? come on, even bryson couldn't help but tease her! so now, it's officially alright to do so. HAHAHAHA. BRYSON ROCKS! he introduced us to the lai inventions like some crazy ways of playing fireworks and barbequeing marshmallows with chocolate to obtain marshmallow candy. WHEE. oh yes, i'm a rock star filled with angst as i caused my mom to be fined three hundred and thirty dollars for breaking a seemingly antic television. blasphemy, i say. i must also mention the unwillingness of bryson to leave us when he had to return home during the second night. that totally broke my fragile heart. nevertheless, i delight in the joy of dining with him and aunt kathleen (and i'm crossing my fingers) before i fly to london.

thursday was a gorgeous day. the ENTIRE bo-law club enjoyed ourselves at siglap in the afternoon. CHRISTABEL JOINED US! aww. it was so great to see her! i missed her muchos. we coincidentally bumped into erle's mom at starbucks. it was nice to know that she recognised us. we must have left quite a bit of impression during the occ tennis tournament. CHEERLEADERS!
at night, i meet up with the kings college people! seriously, we were out of our mind. we met up at somerset, only to drive to suntec to satisfy may ling's curry cravings at muthu. but after dinner, she had ice-cream cravings. so we droved to siglap gelare for gelatos. we stayed there till the staff had to chase us away. oh and we realised that they play cheesy boyband-ish music during opening hours, but after that, they blast loud rock music. and most importantly, i do not suck at arithmetic. i CAN do mental sums! i'm just not as efficient. ):

this week has been fruitful and great. i need a time machine, so i can just select those blasting moments of my life, erase those i abhor and put what's left on repeat mode. if only life were as simple as cut-copy-paste.
since it is not, i can only make do with photographic mementos of this awesome week.
