in a mere less than a flash, FIVE straight days of fun passed. really, why does time whizz pass when i am savouring every moment in delirium? friday's 'girls night out' with four-fifth of the bo-law club; saturday's lunar new year eve reunion; sunday's, monday's and today's festive season celebrations. all these are gone. and i will perhaps not be able to enjoy such kind of enormous gathering in a long time to come. this time next year, i'll be stuck in london, memorising statues. ):

friday was another great towning time. our traditional finger guessing game was played again. but this time, we visited great world city. seems like that place loves our camera because the pictures turned out quite well. except, of course, mrs c lai's incapability of taking un-shaky pictures. we had dinner at country mana, and i love the food. the waiter was cute too!! (: as usual, we visited the cinema to get pop-corns without watching a movie. even the booth lady was amused.

saturday was spent watching 'i not stupid too'. the movie was hilarious at the beginning, but turned dreary towards the end when everyone started crying and future seemed bleak. in a way, it was educational. but it kind of deters people from wanting to have children since they portrayed bringing kids up to be extremely difficult. reunion dinner was typically steamboat. that pretty much summed up my lunar new year's eve. it was mornique's birthday anyway. but since we already celebrated her birthday at jack's place the previous sunday, there was not much of birthday atmosphere for her, sadly.

sunday was the first day of the lunar new year. obviously, visiting big aunt's home was first, as always, on the agenda. my niece, cherilyn, is so adorable. after which, we went to pasir ris (also a prevalent practice) to while the afternoon away. the bo-law club was bored to death there. it was overcrowded with people and food didn't taste good. i guess the fun came only when we played finger guessing game and aunt karen made us an extremely hideous-tasting oat-looking drink. it was disgusting with a capital 'd'.

monday was cool because calysta and cassandra came over to visit, after not visiting for many years. we bummed around at east coast park (i drove there!!) and visited the bayshore, much to m lai's and c lai's delight. ((: on our way back, cassandra waved to a truckload-full of indian workers!! they were staring at her, which made mandy and her laugh non-stop, wrecking havoc in my car. these two are perpetual citizens of bedlam.

today's spectacular event would be sending jun wei off to new york. he is going there to work and his work place is near times square. so envious. now i have somewhere to bunk at when i want to visit new york. it was quite a teary affair when he walked pass the departure gates. my mom and aunt karen cried. so, i presume that my mom will bawl her eyes out like crazy when i leave for london. aww.

a random fact: this lunar new year was spent prevalently at the east. happy woofy lunar new year, everyone!!

unforgettable quote from cousin wei xuan, when the bo-law club wanted to visit east coast park: if it's compulsory, my mommy will definitely allow.

there has never been an idle day for devil to turn my brain into a workshop after resigning/being sacked. i've been meeting different groups of friends. it was a lovely tweenies day out on friday, intensive big-two-zero birthday celebration for joanna on saturday and a farewell lunch cum microscopic 03s54 gathering today. let's just say i took the sunday off.

a night out with my dearest tweenie is never a let-down we went window shopping at the major labels adored by local teens: mango, topshop and zara. turning into sluts, we tried on clothings we'll never wear and took pictures. it was really fun being a different person all together for a while, living a dream or a two-faceted life.

meeting up with melbourne-bound guoyan and ntu cheerleader joanna was a disparate experience. i grew to see changes in my friends. they become quite different from when they were in jc. i could relate to guoyan more than before because both of us are overseas-bound, so it was good getting some advices from her, albeit we'll be at two ends of the globe when september comes. joanna is now more perky and outgoing.

the last time i saw siti, priyaa and bryan was during prom. after more than a year of drifting apart, we finally met up. it was great catching up with them, learning about their lives in nus. i now know that pharmacy has lack of good lookers, while the arts faculty is filled with extremely fun and hot people, much to bryan's envy. the nus arts library is actually one of the most happening spots. library and happpening just doesn't quite click, in my view, before today. i drove the foursome around town and chilled at gutrie house (my favourite chill out venue). of course, you can't skip photo-taking when your dear friend is leaving. i'll miss priyaa when she's gone. ):

oh gosh, this is so cute. i just saw this when i dropped by natascha's blog. and it really evoked tonnes of nostalgia. WEEEE...WEE AH MUM OH WEH!!!!!! now, these are the purple hippo with voice of soprano equivalence, and the yellow spotted dog with velvet dance moves i was talking about more than a year ago. yay.

and then, i remembered this seductive little mouse who attempted to get into the good books of an ignorant cheese cube. i can still reminisce vividly of singing to this song while riding in a cable car up mount titlis.

oh yes, happy birthday joanna. she hits the big two-zero today. she is two decades old. i guess we are all sad to leave our 'teen' years behind. we are 'twenty' now. ahhh....i hate this too.

after being absent from blog-o-sphere for a very long time, i am finally back because i am fired from my first job. that's right, fired!! but technically, i quit. you see, i called the company to resign before they told me that they also wanted to terminate my services. (: it's a joy to announce it because it was a hideous time spent there. i mean, i can totally do without a three-day-stint there. fat witches lurking around, being jealous of me (for whatever reason, i am oblivious to) and giving me heinous work to do.

that's one chapter closed. now, an update on my next milestone: lse rejected me. bah. sour. but it's okay. durham university and king's college quickly came to nurse my injured heart and spirit. (: however, this brings a new quandary to light: to be nearer to everyone else by studying in king's, or to pursue prestige in third-ranked durham?

i have finally said 'goodbye' to posb. after banking with them since the squirrel friend days in primary school, i've moved on to hsbc. yay. (: my banker was damn hilarious and could manage to engage me in interesting discussions.

what else? my life is pretty insignificant. i can't wait for lunar new year, because the bo-law-ers will reunite and i'll get to see my cousins and distant relatives and whatnot.

i am starting on a book called 'everyone worth knowing' by lauren weisberger. i hope it'll be a good and interesting read. i was enamoured by meg cabot's ever smiley corporate lawyer mitchell hertzog and boy-next-door-ish park avenue trent heir john trent. then, i was transported to primary school when i read her 'all american girl'. it's time to start on something classified under 'contemporary adult romantic novel'.
such books are so illusional. even the drama serial 'huan zhu ge ge' is. but you know what, since guys, in reality, can never be like these characters, why can we women be allowed to delude ourselves in perfection, no matter how unrealistic that might seem? oh right, i think 'fifth prince yong qi' and 'xiao yan zi' (aka little swallow) will make a good reel-to-real couple.

it's australian open season now. how nice it is to be able to switch on the tv without worrying that there'll be nothing to watch. (: what a pity. my dear french teenage sensation richard gasquet was knocked out during the first round by german veteran tommy haas. spanish prodigy rafael nadal withdrew due to injury. so, i can only bank my homes on american second seed, andy roddick. albeit, something tells me that world number one, roger federer, will once again prevail.

only a few hours ago, the boring club (mandy and cassandra) and the in-laws club (mornique, calysta and i) were having a pow-wow session outside the junction eight outlet of seven-eleven convenience store. we made a prank call, using calysta's mobile, to mftp. (: oh yes, how juvenile. thankyouverymuch. it's fun, okay!! poignant to announce, he didn't pick up the call and only called back, using his home phone line (now we've got his home phone number), when mornique, mandy and i left calysta and cassandra. calysta mentioned that his voice sounded 'cute'. aww.
it's really amazing how time whizzes pass you in a flash when you are enjoying yourself. like my 'salad' tweenie always says, "i always look forward to this day and it somehow ends unknowingly fast". indeed, i concur.
the town-gallivanting outing the bo-law (fusion word created from 'boring' and 'in-laws') club had today yesterday (i really should learn to keep track of time) was described by mandy as the best time she had in town. why? simply because of our mere juvenileness and enthusiasm. we played hideously silly number-guessing games, and punished the losers with awful-tasting rojak food (think: rosti, chicken breast in black pepper sauce, grilled scallop in butter garlic and ham-cheese crepe mixed together). the patrons of the marche restaurant at the heeren shops were quite disturbed by our noise pollution. you can't help it when cassandra is sitting at your table. she, along with mandy, can produce the loudest, worst sounding laughter ever. embarrassment, evidently, isn't in her dictionary. she can burst into extemporaneous laughing without the very least of a courteous warning sign. i think i can label our behaviour asinine, without a tinge of doubt. however, i must emphasise that it's only in good company that you can - in joanna's words - do things which might turn you beetroot-red without a second thought. the best of it all is that you do not regret these actions and instead reminisce with a grin spreading across your face.
the 'harry potter' at wisma coffee club express, the coffee club express crew who made cassandra laugh at every sight of him, the gay and sissy british india outlet staff who took the same train home as us due to sheer bad luck, the upsetting foot shutter neo-print machine which turned us into ghastly creatures, the illegal photo shot at mini toons which led to a doltish sales lady's reprimand, the boring club members who always took unnecessarily long walking routes...and many more fond memories made us trigger happy.
THE BO-LAW CLUB ROCKS!!!!! and to quote mandy's pet phrase, yayness!!

this last year's christmas was very much different from the rest. the difference came in the form of doing the direct opposite - not celebrating. having arrived in singapore from beijing only in the morning of christmas eve, all of us forgot about making reservations for this annual festive season. however, i was pleased to be able to enjoy a little bit of christmas fun with my smu girls. we had a party at shuowen's cottage-resort-esque home. it was sort of like a farewell dinner for the lovely house since shuowen has already moved since. we had plenty of food to go around and exchanged gifts. of course, such a spectacular event deserves a place amongst my shutterfly photos and a space on memory lane.

how absurd. the year of 2005 has gone away in a whirlwind. only when my siblings started going to school today did i taste reality. i am in no mood for reflections, so i shall skip that. a very belated happy new year to all. (:

mftp texted mandy, "hey..sorry..ilikeyou nigga". afterwards, he proceeded on to deny sending that, chatted with mandy about how sucky the first day of school was and complained how the weather today was too hot for tennis training. very interesting.
