i was sucked into the world of sajc orientation once again while browsing the photos of saintastralis - the sajc orientation 2004, organised by our very own batch of 26th student council, the councillors we voted. as seen from the pictures, i hope that they did not fail us. actually, i could re-live the days of my orientation last year. the always-eager-to-attend-school attitude, the enthusiasm (og 14 are you ready?!!?), the energy we had to run from one station to another during the wet station games, the cheers (it's war cry session!!!) and encouragement we gave one another (go!!!) and of course, the friendship and bond formed during the short duration together as a group. a naive and lazy me tried means and ways to escape from the special party (casual clothes were allowed. skirts can't be above the knee, but not too long. what do you want then? haha!) and - the most regretful one - the finale. those pictures of the burning flame, the whole cohort of j1s crowding at the gallery, screaming their hearts out and enjoying every single moment left before a series of lecture time-table. if i could be a j1 now, there are two things i must do - uniform exchange and enjoying orientation to the fullest! that's what life during first three months is all about.

saintastralis

the burning flame signifies the never-run-out thirst for fun!

that's the popular og 32 (filled with enthusiastic guest students)

ahem! there you go. there there there! get it? nope? too bad!

the hope of having a great year with a good looking eye candy is dashed! the punch (yi quan in chinese) guy is one very serious guy. once, he hit a junior of my friend because she was looking at him. now, if that's gonna happen to me, i'm slapping him right away. what kind of gentlement is that? not one at all, i say, since he hits girls. that rids him off my list of eye candies. so what if he's a guest student? a bowler? a victorian? please, i suggest he read the history books and research on what a true victorian is. queen victoria didn't become queen and see britain through golden years for nothing eh? tsk tsk! that truly brings shame to the victorian age of monachy rule over britain. queen victoria, may you rest in peace. anyway, this reminds me that i should decide that my loyalty still lies with kl. at least kl shouldn't be a woman-beater, i hope. haha. no matter how boys claim that they detest the ac boys, deep down in their hearts, they are a bunch of 'ac-wannabes'. first, it was my classmate. mr cutie-pie rolled up his pants to make it resemble the ac berms. then, it was a sas boy who lives in my neighbourhood. he wore his shorts so low that it looks so much like the fashionable berms. there you go, two evidences of their procrastination.
ganesh terrorised my life once again. this time, his weapon of destruction comes in the form of a - ahem - caterpillar. i must openly declare that i am really not into these creepy crawlies, especially one that metamorphoses into a fluttery butterfly. definitely not my cup of tea. daljit, his humble accomplice, chased me round the cafe with the caterpillar caught inside a cup. it was so scary that my heart almost popped out of me, sending chills down my spine.
of course, life in sajc wouldn't be fun without the eye candies. i saw the victorian - should i name him 'my motivator to go to school'? - twice. i guess he is suspicious now. the behaviour of my friends and i were really obvious when we walked out of the auditorium. you could see people pointing at him and smiling at me. hmm, point taken. i'd better learn to not do things that would leak more information. but before that, he's a bowler.

before i start on anything, happy birthday my dear sister, mornique. she turns 16 today. *muacks sweetie!* although i doubt she visits here because she seldom uses the internet.
i had one great adventurous day. first of all, pe lessons! no doubt my favourite lesson in the whole time table. dear mr leonard ong made us run and he named that 'intensive running'. what a hopeful name eh? anyway, it was refreshing to see the victorian in the cafe after dreadful pe. jin cheng and i went to the drinks stall just to get a closer look. and yes, he looks so cute! infatuation? nope. eye candy!!! that should be the appropriate word. and, oh my gosh, jin cheng noted that he actually looked at me, twice! once at the drinks stall and another when we walked pass his table. *grins* also, 'mr attitude' was trying to be a model student i guess. his hair wasn't spiked up, pants was really high up (unlike the conventional ac style) and his bag was so girly! nevertheless, siew wen was still impressed and labeled that as 'the well-mannered kind of style'. nice one there!
next was the body worlds exhibition. that's not the most interesting portion of the day yet. the nine dollars spent was worth while as we got to check out stages of foetus growth, muscles, digestive system, respiratory system etc. and to add onto that, most of the showcases were corpse of smokers! black lungs! yucky!
now, the most adventurous part of my day. stupid ganesh gave me the wrong information. poor me took a wrong bus and ended up in bencoolen street. being a street-wise-idiot, i didn't know where to go. finally after walking around the area for almost half an hour, i called my parents for help. with that, i got to the taxi stand. but, the queue was so long that i waited for another half hour to get a cab. however, it was relatively fun observing the way people wait for the taxi. one stupid guy tried to cut the queue, and the next in line gave a 'gosh, what's he doing? it's my turn!' kind of face. how adorable! haha. now, that's reality!

well well, i never knew i could actually find j1s good looking. haha. but, this sporty victorian caught my eye. he was dressed in ac bermudas, and that truly enhances his adorable look. very cool too! i caught him sleeping at the student's center today. gosh, how adorable! just like a little boy, sleeping on the crouch. awww! before people start pointing at me and scream 'paedophile alert!', i must say that i am in no way attracted to this little lad. he's just an eye candy, people!
of course, siew wen is into 'mr attitude'. this spiked brown hair, ac (barker) rugger truly has that kinda attitude. he's very cool, but looks sleepy all the time. sigh, he's for siew wen. i am definitely not interested in him. guess the j1s really grew cuter over this month or so. that's something good eh? haha. now, at least we all do not need to only depend on the popular 'the chinese high' waterpolo boys to provide eye candy right? distribution of jobs. haha. what's the world coming to? i am actually gossiping about cute j1s? the quality of guys in sajc can be easily inferred.
oh, did you know about the love affair between bryan and lili? and that they went home together today? well, that's another long story.

had a spanking new monkey year at orchid country club. went bowling, casino (yeah! trespassed, i know, since i am not yet eighteen.) and karaoke singing! and loosing $20 on my maiden visit to the casino isn't a good thing eh? but anyway, i had great fun nonetheless! i have to thank my 'shi fu' (aka my grandmother) who taught me how to operate the jackpot to start with. of course, my cousins were great company, seeing me through even the most boring afternoons. and also, my two sisters and lovely lil' brother, they are just so good to have. loving them lots! not forgetting my parents whom i adore to the core 'cos they rock! what's getting into me? why does this sound so much like a dedication to 'say it with music with jamie yeo on the perfect 10 98.7 fm'? haha. maybe i am just so so glad and blessed to have such a rocking family, one that i am so proud of.
today's the third day of the lunar new year, which lasts fifteen days. more cousins, aunts and uncles will be coming over. i'm sure it's gonna be great fun! looking forward to another wonderful day. but of course, i'll have to start on my math, chemistry and gp tutorials soon. why are teachers so sadistic? spoiling my day. not that i'm giving a damn, because fun comes first on my priority list!

Happy 18th Birthday Joanna darling! had a great dinner last night at swensen's restaurant at orchard. it's great that she loved the presents. quote: 'this is the most wonderful birthday i ever had.' awww! but of course, it must be my presence! ego!!!
i must be doing the ultimate crazy thing by going online at 6.50 in the morning. yawn! okay:
- breath's fresh 'cos i've brushed my teeth
- bed's neat 'cos...i've just made it (that's a little spring cleaning i do everyday. haha!)
finally ready for the day to start. and this is a special day, because it's the lunar new year eve!!! oh, how i love the chinese new year.
target: new year goodies; instructions: attack!
diets, detoxification processes aside. i am going to eat (not pig or going on a binge) those delicious new year goodies. from ferrero roche to almond nut chocolates, from peanut sugee to love letters, i am going to eat them. muahahaha! they are going to loose this battle and die the most painful death. oops! i shouldn't say 'death'. after all, it's taboo during this traditional festival. let's get ready to party!!!
also, i'll be meeting the gang of five for lunch today. it's going to be so exciting seeing them in their various uniforms. i think they'll look good. of course, i'll get to see my cousins again tomorrow. miss them so so much!
i am just so full of energy now because it's the holidays again! four straight days (although sadistic teachers set homework.)!!! bounce bounce bounce...

yesterday i had my maiden visit to chinatown (that's as far as i could remember). and today, i had my maiden stroll in the pouring rain, in my sajc school uniform. both experiences are far beyond enriching.
by visiting bustling chinatown, not so much there for shopping, being immersed in that lunar new year atmosphere, it truly taught me the traditions and cultures of the chinese people. from the buying of new year goodies (which is of course one of the best thing about the existence of new year), to spring cleaning (which i've never done before) and putting up of new year decorations, all these make up part of the culture and traditions of lunar new year. maybe it is because of the wonderful atmosphere i got from chinatown, i begin to feel proud of my chinese roots (not in any way being racist here!) - a chinese whose ancestors hail from the middle kingdom. i proudly proclaim, 'wo shi hua ren!' (which means 'i am chinese'. sorry for being so cheena here!)
while walking from the bus stop back to home (by the way, i saw johnson on the bus. i must say, i've never seen him for a long time. almost couldn't recognise it was him until he greeted.), i was very privileged to be caught in the rain. those lovely raindrops patted lightly on my bag, blouse and head really refreshed me after a hectic day at school. ashanti's song 'rain on me' kept going on and on in my head. yes, indeed, stop domestic violence! peace!

mixed feelings: a hybrid of different emotions
that's basically how i feel now. a mixture of happiness and bloatedness. my good-for-nothing stomach isn't at work again. going on strike. i feel like a pregnant lady, carrying that bloated tummy. and it hurts! *sobs* never mind that!
i helped an almost-blind man cross the road today. i felt so happy. and blessed too, for having the windows to my soul (eyes) working so well. mr stomach better learn from good-old mr eyes and stop joining some strike unions.
of course, it is the weekend again, finally. every day is a step closer to the lunar new year. and that means four straight days of fun and holiday. woo hoo! in the mean time, have a great prosperous monkey year! i suddenly feel so cheena. weird! haha.

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord.

i went out today!!! yes, finally, after being deprived of bustling orchard road strolling for a week, i finally get the chance to move my leg muscles and take a walk along (this time it isn't orchard) bugis. my companions were gloria and karen. the slacking co-operators, of course. only people like us get the privilege of not being in school on this beautiful afternoon of cca sign-up day. i felt so great being exposed to the air in these shopping areas. so much better than sick sajc air!
one more thing i need to declare: i am living on whole-meal bread, guavas and papayas for lunch now. seriously need some detoxification before the lunar new year. plus, i get to save more money too! isn't that great? i feel it is.

okay, so my mum and i were in our maroon multi-purpose vehicle (mpv), driving to saint andrew's junior college as usual. however, today is not like any other day. i noticed a good looking eurasian standing at the side of the road and he seemed to be looking out for a taxi or some other vehicle. he was clad in khaki hwa chong junior college uniform (how many eurasians can you find, anyway, in chinese-dominated hc?), carrying a green bag and his brown fringe was spiked up (although gel-less). of course, that unforgettable lovely yawn of his helped painted a wonderful picture. it made him even more adorable. it took me at least five seconds to realise that he was kl!!! i was almost screaming with joy in the car, but luckily i didn't. what a coincidence? the fact that the stretch of road doesn't lead to prestigious bukit timah (home to the schools of 'smart people') and that he was kl made everything so memorable and special.
but, i wouldn't want joanna's theory of 'three is the limit' to be applied in my case. i'm not being greedy here, but i really wish to see him again. i know the probability of such a happening is very low. so, i got to thank God for it. still, that doesn't stop me from the urge of wanting it to rewind or happen again on another day. am i asking for too much? i don't know myself. all i know is that, this made me so glad that even if i were to fail my biology test, i wouldn't bother. the kind of happiness and exhilaration is just too great to be replaced by mere disappointment.

i'm floating on cloud nine. no, cloud ten would be great!

meet-the-juniors session. okay, so they weren't cool or anything. but their enthusiastic level sure was high. at least they didn't show that they were bored because of the lame game. in fact, they participated in it and tried to make the best out of it. even when we pleaded for them to say that they were bored with the game, they politely requested for a change of game (although, the next game was very much the same!). as for eye candy, sad to report: none! however, there was this benjamin guy (mathematics club in saint andrew's school) who looked very much like an eurasian. but (the key word: but!), he's not good looking. bleah!

just being his silly self, making lame jokes. like... "hi i'm kl, was an ac-kia, i'm in chess club." then the spastic smile of his =)
*ain't that adorable? i would love a picture of that! but sadly, petrina didn't capture that down on camera.*

A*Teens - Upside Down
I wish that I - I - I could walk right up to you
Each time I try- I-I the same old hesitation

Upside down
Bouncing off the ceiling
Inside out
Stranger to this feeling
Got no clue what I should do
But I'll go crazy if I can't get next to you

Somehow someday
You will love me too
One day will be the day when all my dreams come true........

this is how i feel. really relevant song.

Alicia Keys - You Don't Know My Name
Baby, baby, baby,
from the day I saw you,
I really, really wanted to catch your eye.
There's something special about you.
I must really like you,
'cause not a lot of guys are worth my time.
Oh. Baby, baby, baby,
It's gettin' kinna crazy,
'cause you are takin' over my mind.

And it feels like
OooOoOoOoOooOooOooo...
You don't know my name.
I swear...
It feels like
OooOoOoOoOooOooOooo...
You don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)
Oh!

Baby, baby, baby
I see us on our first date.
You doin' everything that makes me smile.
And when we had our first kiss,
it happened on a Thursday,
and, ooh, it set my soul on fire.
Ooh, baby, baby, baby,
I can't wait for the first time.
My imagination's runnin' wild.

It feels like
OooOoOoOoOoooooo...
You don't know my name.
And I swear it, baby,
It feels like
OooOoOoOoOooOooooo...
U don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)
Will you ever know?

I'm sayin'
he don't even know what he's doin' to me.
Got me feelin all crazy inside.
I'm I'm feelin like...Oh!
I'm doin' more than I've ever done
for anyone's attention.
Take notice of what's in front of you
'cause did i mention (Oh!)
you're 'bout to miss a good thing?
And you'll never know how good it feels to have
all of my affection.
And you'll never get a chance to experience
my lovin' (Oh!)
'Cause my lovin feels like...

OooOoOoOoOooOooOooo...
You don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)
And I swear it feels like

OooOoOoOoOooOooOooo...
You don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go.(Oh..)Will you ever know?)

Will you ever know it?
No, no, no, no, no...no, no...
Will you ever know it?

(Spoken)
Well I'm a have to just go on head and call this boy.
Hello?
Can I speak to...to Michael? Oh, hey how you doin'?
Uh, I feel kinna silly doin this but, uh,
this is the waitress from the coffee house on 39th from Lenox.
You know the one with the braids?
Yeah. Well I see you on Wednesdays all the time.
You come in every Wednesday on your lunch break, I think.
And you always order the special...with the hot chocolate.
My manager be trippin and stuff talkin 'bout we gotta use water, but...
I always use some milk and cream for you, cause...
I think you kinna sweet. (laughs)
Anyway, you always got on some fly blue suit
and your cufflinks is shining all bright.
So what you do?
Oh word?
Yeah that's interestin'...
Look man, I mean, I don't wanna waste your time but...
I know girls don't usually do this,
but I was wonderin' if maybe we could get together
outside the restaurant one day?
You know 'cause I do look a lot different outside my work clothes and...
I mean we could just go across the street to the park, right here...
Wait, hold up, my... my cell phone's breakin' up, hold up...
Can you hear me now?
Yeah. So what day did you say?
Oh yeah. Thursday's perfect, man.

And it feels like
OooOoOoOoOooOoooooo...
You don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)
Baby, baby I swear...it's like
OooOoOoOoOooOooOooOoooo...
But you don't know my name. No no no-o...
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)

And it feels like
OooOoOoOoOooOooOoooooo...
But you don't know my name.
('Round and 'round and 'round we go. Will you ever know?)
And I swear on my mother and father, it feels like

OooOoOoOoOooOooOoooOoo...
OooOoOoOoOooOooOoooOoo...
OooOoOooOoOooOoOooOoOh...
(But you don't know my name. 'Round and 'round and 'round we go.)

Will you ever know?

The School of Rock....rocks!! It's a great movie with both comedy and eye candy. this time, the eye candy comes in the form of kevin clark who plays freddy jones, the rebellious percussion player (because he doesn't know how to play any other instruments) turns drummer of the band. although i do feel like a paedophile looking at him as he is only fourteen this year, but eye candies have no age boundary. haha. crap! basically, i want to watch it again. so i'm trying to arrange another meeting with the gang of five to watch it together. but well, schedules can't seem to fit.

first day of school today. damn! i hate it. my time table sucks to the core. my mondays end at 4.50pm (talking about monday blues!), tuesdays at 3.30pm (gosh, that's the best it can get), wednesdays at 2.10pm (duh? i mean, it's cca day!), thursdays and fridays at 4.10pm. come on! i'm a 3 a level student and i get that kind of time table? i no need a reason to be angry with God! *got this line from A Walk To Remember* this movie is really touching. not to mention, shane west is so so cute. i would like a boyfriend like landon! landon is great, especially when he beated up his friend when he made a picture of jamie as 'virgin mary'. i was going 'awww he's so sweet' throughout the show.

Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offence and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

what else? okay, miss julia kwan secretly got married (please address her as mrs chow from now on) and mrs 'cheryl' cheng is pregnant again (her kid will be cute, as cute as her son). oh oh oh, i got the extended version of the lord of the rings: the two towers! it simply rocks! did i say the school of rock is rocking?
