hellooooooooo. i'm just really psyched right now, because i am going to be in denmark in slightly less than twenty four hours! copenhagen! gasp! my friends have all expressed their enthusiasm on their respective blogs, but i have not. so i took this opportunity before my brunch to say how excited i am to go on my first trip outside london. and thank God, it's READING WEEK for all first-year kings lawyers next week! so i'll definitely be back with some danish photos. till then, happy halloween!
some
photos before i go trigger happy in copenhagen.
fyi, i am going to spend only 160 quid on this trip. and that's roughly S$480. (:
trick or treat?

i went to HILLSONG LONDON for my first time today. many singaporeans travelled from all over the UK to the dominion theatre at tottenham court to hear the sermon given by NEW CREATION CHURCH's pastor joseph prince. he was REALLY entertaining as per usual. there was something he said about sin being both a noun and a verb. he said to the largely british crowd, "the word 'sin' can be a noun and a verb. and i'm sure you know what a 'noun' is. i don't think you'll expect a singaporean to teach you english." HAHAHAHA. i think i'm going to settle down at hillsong london. the praise and worship was so energetic! people were so high and jumping! we sang 'from the inside out' and 'from God above'. MY FAVOURITE SONGS! (:
yesterday, i went to tate modern to play on this slide which is five-storey high. we queued for almost an hour to get on the slide. it is suppose to be an art exhibition that we can ride. however, i felt it was too bumpy and hurt my head. nonetheless, it was the adrenaline rush and speed that made it so thrilling. the funniest thing was to see the same reaction from everyone who ended the slide ride. everyone would have this bewildered look on their face and be checking where their hat (which we were all forced to put on as a safety measure) had flown to.
i spent friday night at an asian restaurant at edgware road for kclmss dinner. coincidentally, i met eko, the imperial college indosoc president, there. and no, i didn't beat him up this time! :D
hillsong london; tate modern; mawars You came from God above, the Father's only Son. saved my soul, made me new. now i live for You.

sunday at kensington with my hall friends proved to be absolutely a great joy. i had bayswater duck, which voon chee morbidly pointed out the swimming ducks at kensington gardens and hyde park which are not too far away from four seasons restaurant. hmm, nevermind. i got my freshly baked krispy kreme at harrods and i dig the new cappuccino flavour! much to mandy's envy. (:
law party at mayfair wasn't as lofty or sophisticated as i thought it would be. nonetheless, it was suffice. for a closet clubber like me, i managed to enjoy myself a litte, moving my body unglamorously to the beat and getting to know my caucasian hall mates and classmates better. unfortunately, i deleted all my pictures accidentally. much to my despair.
i really feel like i'm straddling on a state border. and somehow, i feel more comfortable on one. the other is just no longer how it used to be. and i admit, i have a part to play in this. i am partly responsible for the change. maybe, time was another factor. maybe, i'm just confused. maybe, i'm just being myself.
oh and FYI, i hate guys who dislike girls because they are fat. they should go look at themselves in the mirror first before anything else. i know i'm not exactly the nicest person around, but at least i don't hate someone just merely cause they aren't slim. superficiality has its limits.
rocking cool canterbury hall mates who needs mayfair when there is kensington? i have been in london for a whole month already. exactly a month ago, i arrived in london. i must say, i have grown rather attached to this place. it would be pretty weird to wake up and not see my room. however, having said that, i still miss home. but i can picture myself living here for a long time. cheers to one month of independence!
it's been a long time since i last wrote such an emotional entry.

hall life is really very perky! it is so nice to have friends living a few door steps away, and contemporaneously being able to safeguard my own privacy. i really have grown so attached to this hall of mine. this 'home away from home'. i just feel so at ease here. it is a place i can truly relax and joke around. meals are always good for filling up my tummy, chit-chatting, laughing and eye-feasting. YES, THERE ARE CUTE GUYS AT MY HALL! :D much to the envy of many, i suppose.
last night was spectacular. vivian and i were indulging in our clandestine "spies" of the unmentionable french boy. much to our shock, his friend and he looked up and caught us, which threw us into an immediate frenzy. we started squealing, ducking and drawing curtains, only to realise the best defence is to act nonchalant. before we could, the third and last guy of the group looked up from his room as well, as if he was notified. that was truly scary, yet enjoyable.
frau vivian wong, ich liebe dich. you are another one of my favourite girls in the hall. let's continue spying! adrenaline rushes are always welcomed. oh, and do go and ask him what "voulez vous coucher avec moi?" means. (:
before the struck of midnight, kelvin, jie ying, michelle goh, bjorn, vivian, jasmine and i hid at voon chee's toilet and surprised him with cake and budweiser. he turned eighteen last night. i'm sure he was touched by what we did. albeit it wasn't any huge rocking party, it was the company that made all the difference.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY VOON CHEE!

the first celebrity i saw in london is miss ashlee simpson. the american sweetheart is in town to star in the famous musical 'chicago'. OMG, i LOVE the musical. it was a lot better than 'cabaret'. the 20 quid paid was truly worth every pence. but i thought the hype over miss simpson was over-rated. it was a good show, but she made roxie hart too bimbotic for my liking. mama morton's voice was superb. i could only 'sit' in awe. the whole theatre cheered for her.
who says murder is not an art?one of the reaons why i love living in london jasmine goh is my favourite person in the entire canterbury hall. we had a mini girl-talk session last night. what was said in the room, stays in the room. aww, she's simply the cutest thing. HAHA. our personalities bear uncanny resemblances. je t'aime, mademoiselle jasmine! <33
oh, and i think the kcl law society president has such mesmerising eyes. he charmed the socks off squish, may ling, diana and i. gosh, he's greek! AHH. he looks like elijah woods, but with much more beautiful eyes! :D
quote of the daysquish: yeah, we are at 'pret a manger' (in french; prey-ah-mon-jay).
llewellyn: huh? what? pret, is it?
squish: yeah, pret. but it's pronounced as 'prey'. it's in french!
diana: who cares! it's just 'pret a manger' (pret-er-man-ger).
i like it how some people can look so charmingly disheveled, especially in the morning. it's called the alluring 'just-woke-up, just-washed-up and with-my-glasses-on' look. that's what i like about catered breakfast.

i promised diana that i'll publicise her defeat in the sudoku challenge! to rub salt on her wounds, i went to her apartment, flipped her desk emoticon and aptly chose 'embarrassment' to reflect her feelings about being the last to complete the number puzzle she's not heard of till last week.
go diana! win llewellyn next time! the french infatuation has ceased. it's about time i revert back to my swiss obsession. better yet, let's leave all these infatuation/crush/love issues out of my life. it's nice being carefree.
to end this post off,
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AUNT CAREN! thanks for your scarf. it has proved its usefulness when the temperature is dropping by the day. (: i love and miss you!

my maiden weekend in london without parental supervision. and what did i do? i did the most ludicrous thing. i went to watch a musical called 'cabaret'. fair enough, a musical is suppose to be a very lofty thing to watch. but, the shock came in the form of nudity. and yes, to me, it is a form of art. not that i excessively indulge in it, of course. to put it simply, i actually felt that 'cabaret' was a really good musical and it only cost me 17.50 quid. how cool is that? on the contrary, much to may ling's and diana's jaw-dropping shock, they couldn't keep their eyes open and discouraged everyone from watching it. HAHAHAHA. how cute these little innocent friends of mine are. aww, i just love them! (:
readings have not killed me yet. however, having said that, the law course really isn't called a reading course for nothing. never underestimate. cheers to more cases, textbooks and the oh-so-desired doctrines! sense the sarcasm!
in any case, HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY! :D
