so i have been back for what seems like 2 weeks, when in reality it has already been almost 2 months long. when you are enjoying yourself, time never pass faster.
so the lovely june holidays went away without a trace. it was a full month of bumming and whole load of shopping (think, at least twice a week) with my bolawers and family. nothing beats that kind of combination. total slackdom after a month of (not-so) hard work, ie studying for the examinations. my first ever legal exam! which i did pretty alright, i must say. gained me an internship at drew & napier. so that must be something, which i'm obviously oblivious to.
then the school term began and i dragged myself out of bed at the unearthly hours of 6.30am in the morning to get to CHIJ St Joseph's Convent. my time at this IJ institution has been awesome. the girls are adorable, the co-workers have been most kind. it was truly an experience. i'm a history teacher and a form teacher (to the cool class of 1E). teaching might be an escape outlet from the legal world in the future. if i actually pursue a legal career, that is.
of course, the muchly anticipated event of my year - my horribly belated 21st birthday bash. a sophisticated dinner at whitebait and kale, all at my dad's expense. he made it truly special. i enjoyed myself and have collected so many anna sui products that i can open up a boutique. the bolawers made me a bear clad in tennis gear (from a shop at vivo city, which i have yet to visit) and named it 'russell benjamin' (my two most favourite names for boys). aww. and htay got me this huuugggeeee (i kid you not when i exaggerate) dumbo plush toy, which mandy has been extemporaneously caressing. she's envious.
wedding of the year - chun wei and ivy finally tied the knot with a tear-inducing church wedding and grand banquet at swissotel. attending a matrimonial event really evokes thoughts in me and increases my hope of having a truly romantic marriage. however, sadly, my love life has nothing to speak of. it's abysmal to say the least. but then again, i don't know what God has in store for me. and that applies to you too.
thanks for sitting through this horrifyingly boring and absolutely badly written piece of rant.
oh, and happy birthday braddy! we baked cookies for him and he was so touched. they are his fuel for lasting through the nights! :)
