yesterday, the truth unfolded, many were made known their o level results, hybrid of emotions filled them within. it just fills me with inquisitiveness why two different people can react to the same kind of result with extreme difference. one may scream for joy and the other cry out of disappointment. the answer to my enquiry: different levels of expectation, from self, parents, teachers and society. it saddens me that reality is just so cruel. doing well shows your level of intelligence and brings along pride and honour. receive a result slip is below expectation and immediately you are banished out of the scene. no one is going to bother about you. you are deemed stupid, useless and forte-less. whether we like it or not, mugging and pressing on for better results are jobs allocated to students by society, at least in singapore. as for me, i must proclaim that 'i don't like it!'. but what can i do? i am a singaporean nonetheless. for those who have done well, i scream along with them. just like i am so glad for the two good looking ac barker rugger boys. they made it!!! on the other hand, i turn away and observe a moment of silence for those who didn't attain their targeted score. may the peace be with them.
