junior college or polytechnic?
selamat hari raya haji! even though i am not a mud (that's what irwan iskandar taught me) or malay or a muslim for the matter, that doesn't stop me from getting all geared up and ready for this long weekend. but, constantly being reminded that i am no longer living the carefree j1 life, i became a slave for books once again this morning, doing my ionic equilibrium tutorial. although much of my brain juice was used, still, i was unable to complete it. ok mdm lee, charge me! kill me! nag at me! i'm guilty.
i was very glad to receive my monthly lime magazine. being a proud subscriber, i quickly browsed this favourite magazine of mine which is send to my door step every month, before it hits the news stands. haha. there's this little booklet that came with the magazine which reads 'i love poly life'. why is it that the jc people are always neglected? there is a tv drama 'lightyears' which is dedicated to depict poly life and now a booklet all about the pros of being a poly student. and someone even commented that poly students are more mature. what? we, the jc students, are immature? not necessarily okay. how can she just label us as so because she's a poly graduate?
jc buys us two more years to decide what kind of career we want in the future, and also, is a more direct path to the local universities. being smaller in size, the unity is there. as sajc's school hymn goes 'one family unbroken', the jc people are more closely knitted. this is especially displayed during sport matches where we cheer for our team, with strength and unity. although sometimes i do wonder how different life would be if i chose to study in a polytechnic, but i definitely do not regret choosing a jc life. no doubts about that! plus, i personally find my fellow jc counterparts more appealing in terms of looks. maybe poly guys just aren't my cup of tea.
