just when i thought england had that chance to beat euro 2004 host portugal and seize a place in the semi-finals when owen presented his first goal of the season, pele's successor, wayne rooney, had to be substituted due to a leg injury. he desperately tried to gain attention of the first aid personnel by taking off his boots and sitting crossed-legs in the mid of the field. ah, he resembled a young boy. how adorable! but that's beside the point! his absence contributed to england's defeat. who can forget that shot into orbit by - i quote petrina - david philanderer beckham? nevertheless, don't ever erase frank lampard's equaliser during the extra time out of your head. he's so gorgeous. may i just say that he's the best looking player in the whole team? go chelsea! now that even football-genius zidane's french team is out of the league, i'm placing my bets on netherlands. grudges with ruud van nistelrooy aside. rafael van der vaart's in! soccer is synonymous with hunks. but sweden's got some skills there. oh well. anyway, cheng hung enlightened me that 'wie geht es dir' is 'how are you' in german. you learn something new everyday.
