when coach raymond signed my sisters and i up for the intra-club tennis competition, i was in awe and shock. how can an amateur like me play in a competition? having only picked up tennis for over a month, i wasn't confident of even playing a friendly match. needless to say, a competition. but all was well. the tournament was held today. i played against another novelty. it was good fun, minus competiton stress.
a nil-all soccer match between germany and latvia was a huge disappointment. latvia is a nobody in the soccer world. and germany was the first runner-up in the world cup of 2002. although so, i enjoyed the match because arne friedrich made lots of cameo appearances. and miroslav klose played during the last quarter, after fredi bobic was unable to score that God-sent goal (he was immediately sent off the field). but poor friedrich was given a yellow card. he wasn't guilty of that foul, mr referee. he merely pushed the opponent lightly. this must be another manipulated match. nonetheless, i pray for a german victory when they play against czech republic. if not, they would not be able to advance to the quarter-finals. of course, who could have guessed that holland would have lost to czech republic after leading majority of the match with a score of 2-0. sickening van nistelrooy scored again. bleahz!
