i stepped into the dark,
overwhelmed by fear and ignorance.
i groped my way,
with my heart beating fast.
i took out my torch with my trembling hands,
and shined on the road in front of me.
i stared at the board,
but my mind was all blank.
i looked around frantically,
in search of something familiar.
i felt my heart in my mouth,
when a cold hand tapped my shoulder.
i turned around,
and my worst fear came true.
i saw nothing,
and tears started to fall.
i screamed and cried,
and closed my eyes.
i opened my eyes and saw a guide,
urging me to follow him.
i did just that,
and i am still doing that.
