i had great fun in perth with su-wei!! and boy, those surf shops galore! i think mandy would be very much suited to stay in australia. but of course, that would just perpetually burn a (hmm, millions of them, really) hole in her pocket. as a girl, and a shopaholic one, i just cannot resist the temptation of swiping that new debit card in exchange for tonnes of lovely surf brand tee-shirts, jeans, bags, wallets, thongs (not the underwear. the flip-flop) and big pencil cases. it's such a worthy deal that i cannot possibly pass on.
and i love the temperate weather in perth. although it might be really cold in the night, but a trusty warmer would make you all comfortable again. oh, and those codswallop about australians being racist, throw them aside! because i wasn't racially abuse throughout my time in perth. the customer service there is of absolutely high standards. the people greet you with, "hello. how are you?". in singapore, you get that emotionless stare at the ground, looking up only when you are about to pay and that irritated "two dollars!!". even su-wei, my dual-citizenship-holder friend, who has been living in perth for the past few years, seconds my thoughts. i would love to migrate there as well. but then again, my dad wouldn't be able to survive with so many caucasians around him. haha. he's really proud of his chinese roots.
late night prank calls. putting on british accent. catching up with su-wei. tv marathons. surf shops hopping. flashing card and cash. people watching. jumping around because of the extremely cold floor in su-wei's house. getting warmed up in kings perth hotel. visiting university of western australia. being jealous of the nice infrastructure in that university. catching sight of a boy who bears an uncanny resemblance to kl. giving thumbs-up to valuair's services.
it was all a good trip. i enjoyed myself thoroughly.
a picturesque account of it for viewing pleasure.

michaela and su-wei soaking up the sun despite the chilly winter.
haphazardly thinking: crushes are parts of growing up. everyone experiences that phrase of their lives, including my sisters and i. and i am glad that they are around to share my woes and happiness. my cousin, brandon, is going to be saved by the Lord! i am glad for him.
