i have been in london for three days already! and i am slowly getting accustomed to everything here.
for starters, the complicated tube map no longer torments and intimidates me! i am able to swiftly, efficiently and accurately change lines! to exhibit my intelligence, i am able to remember that there are a few lines which are prominent in my travelogue. the lines are called central, bakerloo, jubilee, northern, central and district.
i suppose because it is only the beginning of autumn, the weather is pretty warm. my mom was complaining about not being able to wear sleeveless tops (because i told her to not bring them as it would be too cold). she turns on the air-conditioner whenever we step into our hotel room. the sun is very bright too! and our jackets have no use. very unexpected. but thankfully, it has not been raining! and hopefully, the weather stays this way! :D
my hotel is rather pretty. (i realise i use 'pretty' pretty - get what i mean? - often. gasp!) it is located very near the marble arch station, along the central line. (: yet again, displaying my adaptability. the best thing about my hotel is that it has FREE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS. diana, at luxurious holiday inn, can't access to internet without paying. aww. (:
my mom and i visited TOWER OF LONDON. and i absolutely ADORE those beefeaters! they just look so buffed but friendly. like santa claus! so cute! oh and i totally love shopping at oxford circus! we walked so much, from bond street to regent street and finally to oxford street. if this sounds annoyingly familiar, it's because they correspond to the green properties of the monopoly game. yes, when you travel around london, you realise that those properties in the monopoly game suddenly pops into reality. and that's pretty (yet again) cool!
nonetheless, i must say, as cliche as it sounds, nothing beats home! i miss the prime shopping belt affectionately called 'town' or 'orchard', the cute singaporean boys (yeah, british boys aren't my cup of tea. however, having said that, i managed to see ONE cute guy today while waiting for my friends outside the strand campus of king's college), the decadent asian food that tantalises my taste buds, the warmth and comfort of being in a familiar environment, the clean and efficient MRTs (the tubes here ALWAYS have some sort of delays somewhere) and, most of all, MY DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! <33
