the internship has ended. thirty-first august two-thousand-and-seven marked the end of my drew & napier clerkship. i really am going to miss everything and everyone at this wonderful law firm. i know it is too early to commit myself to one law firm, and just dismiss the rest, but i must honestly say i like what i see in this particular one.
the culture of drew is very appealing. lawyers there are friendly and approachable. the working environment is never dead, quiet or cold. people are always willing to provide a listening ear. i must say i have never enjoyed work so much before. i actually will look forward to the weekdays so that i can go to the office.
one of the things that drive me to work is to be able to see my darlings! candace, novella and i make up this infamous clique, which we call ourselves 'the three musketeers of drew & napier'. the three of us are like a single entity and inseparable. i have grown so attached to these two that i really can't imagine life without seeing them day in and day out now that clerkship is over.
of course, i am also going to miss:
1. my dear mentor, werner, who laughs at me all the time and thinks i am one of the weirdest and most bimbotic person he knows. oh, also that i am a hardcore shopaholic. hahahaha. my novo shoes!
2. daniel teo, who gives me that straight face all day but i know deep down that he is a really nice guy. he bought us coffee! and he taught me a lot too!
3. wei hong, aka mr 'are-you-gainfully-employed', who never fails to disturb me. despite that, i think i really am going to miss him because he does treat me very well. in fact, he talked me through one of the hardest time during the course of my internship. and for that, i'm grateful.
4. wai keong (spongebob) and clive (patrick), who brighten up my day with their funny antics and banters. oh, and their in-sync chants of 'so can dance'! :)
5. nick, novella's mentor. as much as he keeps saying that i am very irritating and violent, he is a nice person to talk to. he treated us to coffee too! hahaha.
6. the rest of the lovely associates and support staff that i managed to be acquainted with. i really treasure the fact that they provided joy to an internship i expected to be absolutely mundane.
i will never forget this wonderful august of the year two-thousand-and-seven. and i certainly hope we can all meet again soon! cheers.
